The Government of Kenya launched the National Cybersecurity Strategy on 5th August 2022 as a roadmap to address new challenges and emerging threats in the cyber domain. The Strategy aligns with the CMCA 2018 to coordinate actions for detection, prohibition, prevention, response, investigation, and prosecution of cybercrime through a multiagency approach. The Strategy is anchored on six main pillars including; the establishment of governance structures, strong policy, legal and regulatory frameworks, protection of critical information infrastructure, cultivating a skilled cybersecurity workforce and developing more advanced capabilities, minimizing crimes and incidents, and fostering cooperation and collaboration. The Strategy is a call to action for all stakeholders to collectively execute their responsibilities toward a safe and trusted cyberspace for the benefit of Kenya and its people.
