Government partners with Huawei on Cloud Computing Security

The government has partnered with Huawei Technologies, Kenya, to provide Cloud Computing Security training.

This initiative, driven by the National Computer and Cybercrime Coordination Committee, has resulted in the training of 200 government officers across various ministries, departments, and agencies.

PS Dr. Raymond Omollo attended the graduation ceremony of 71 government technical officers who have completed the course.

The training is important for the implementation of the provisions of the Computer and Cybercrimes Regulations of 2024, which were established to protect our critical information infrastructure.

Systems operated by the government are classified critical infrastructure, and as the primary line of defense, government departments and agencies must adopt robust cybersecurity measures to safeguard data, secure communication networks, and shield sensitive information from cyber threats.

The training, likewise, strengthens cooperation between different state departments and the NC4, enhancing government efforts in cybercrime reporting and investigation.

Present were the Deputy CEO of Public Affairs, Huawei Kenya – Mr. Steven Zhang, NC4 Secretariat Director – Col. (Dr.) James Kimuyu and representatives from Ministry of ICT.
