ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies) have become a crucial aspect of Kenya’s digital transformation. However, their integration has brought about information security risks, including exposure to cybercrimes like online fraud. The increasing frequency and complexity of cyber-attacks have highlighted the need for countermeasures, such as embracing cybersecurity standards like ISO/IEC 27001. To address this, the National Computer and Cybercrimes Coordination Committee (NC4) partnered with the Kenya Bureau of Standards to organize the 3rd Annual Information Security Management System (ISMS) Conference. This event, held from June 12 to 16, 2023, at the Mombasa Continental Resort in Mombasa County, aimed to encourage the adoption and implementation of ISO 27001 within both public and private sector entities in Kenya.
